Vocational Adjustment Training

is designed to effectively assist individuals with a variety of abilities to learn the skills needed to become work-ready. Through a series of 9 courses, its focus is to build interpersonal skills related to basic traits and attitudes that will lead to successful employment.

Benefits of Vocational Adjustment Training

These courses provide individuals with an opportunity to acquire the personal and social adjustment skills essential to participate in job search activities with the ultimate goal of securing a job and keeping the job. The following courses will provide the knowledge, techniques, and tools needed to find and maintain employment in the community:

  • Exploring the “You” in Work
  • Job Search Training
  • Disability Disclosure Training
  • Entering the World of Work
  • Soft Skills for Work Success
  • Money Smart
  • Skills to Pay the Bills
  • Transportation Training
  • Exploring Postsecondary Education and Training

Program Eligibility

  • Must be able to transport self or coordinate transportation to and from training facilities
  • Must be 16 years or older
  • Must be willing to participate in individual and group activities
  • Must be willing to complete the required hours of each course (10-20 hours based on course)
  • Must be enrolled into services with Texas Workforce Solutions Vocational Rehabilitation Services
