SUMMARY:  The job involves direct coordination of the activities and staff pertaining to all Specialty programs which include (but are not limited to) Operation Good Jobs, Rise, Accelerate and the Youth Employment Preparation Program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes the following; other duties may be assigned:

  • Recruit, hire, supervise, evaluate, celebrate, and discipline staff or assigned interns when necessary.
  • Provide duties of Program Success Coaches as needed.
  • Enforce and ensure compliance for any grants, funders or partners.
  • Ensure Heart of Texas Goodwill Industries, Inc. meets or exceeds program standards as defined by the Mission Services department and other local referral agency contracts.
  • Present information about Goodwill Initiatives and Mission Services programs to the public, community agencies, and employers.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all community assets (educational institutions, government entities, non-profit organizations, faith-based organizations, etc.).
  • Maintain liaisons with referring agencies to ensure they are receiving the services requested and most appropriate.
  • Enforce, evaluate, update and train direct staff based on requirements of programs and initiatives as outlined in Program Score Cards.
  • Provide data for any grants, funders or other partners as needed.
  • Attend local community initiative group meetings, as needed, and report on discussions and information gathered to the Mission Services management team.
  • Coordinate and schedule all program services/referrals amongst staff across all HOT Goodwill services territory and alongside partnering agencies/employers.
  • Administer monthly data entry, forms, and service documentation audits. (Examples can be services plans and program enrollment documents.)
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports to the Mission Services Director
  • Evaluate surveys and feedback forms from participants and other stakeholders.
  • Administer disciplinary and celebratory actions for participants and complete any required documentation, as needed.
  • Maintain adequate materials, supplies, and equipment to support the professional delivery of all services and programs activities.
  • Maintain and assign credential training and continuing educations trainings as required by grants, contracts, or other partners.
  • Review revenue and expenditures reports to ensure proper distribution of funds and expenses within assigned programs/services.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed Mission Services Director or Vice President of Mission Advancement.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in social services or similar field is required. At least one year of experience in an employment services program environment, social service agency, or similar field of work is strongly preferred.

At a minimum an employee must possess the following skills:

  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office and Windows programs)

  • Communication skills (telephone and person to person)
  • Organizational skills
  • Time management skills

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and a clear driving record.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE SKILLS: Proven ability to work with individuals with different interests and opinions and to build effective teams in a volunteer environment. Ability to professionally communicate orally and in writing to a wide range of people. Effective planning and organizational skills. Appropriate level of computer skills. Computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.  High level of energy, motivation, persistence, and positive attitude.

INTERNAL CONTACTS:  Frequent contact with Goodwill employees from all areas of the organization, Goodwill participants and their families, youth, and community volunteers.

Pay Type: $39,520.00/annually
