SUMMARY: Provides grounds keeping services to contracted properties.  Maintains high standards in qualify of work to ensure contract specifications are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Mow around trees, shrubs, and picnic pads
  2. Rake and bag grass clippings
  3. Trim curbs and areas around tress with gas-powered trimmer
  4. Prune shrubs and trees
  5. Report and make necessary repairs
  6. Inspect vehicles, trailers, and mowing equipment for safe operation
  7. Perform before, during, and after operation maintenance
  8. Collect and transport trash.
  9. Maintain cleanliness of vehicle.
  10. Complete daily vehicle inspection report and truck log and paperwork as updated.
  11. Operate vehicle in a safe manner.


Oversees 1 to 4 subordinate employee in the Contracts Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Must be willing to accept instructions and carry them out without close superstition.  Must be willing to work and cooperate with others.  Must be able to identify potential hazards and implement control measure to reduce risk and maintain a safe work environment.  Must wear a required uniform and be at work at a designated time.  Must attend safety or work-related training sessions, comprehend materials, take post-tests, and participate in discussion of training materials.  Must be able to tolerate extreme hot or cold weather and must be physically able to do medium lifting (50-100 lbs.).  Must be able to operate a mower and trimmer in a safe manner without constant supervision.

Must be able to drive a light truck and tow a 16-18 foot trailer and must be able to maintain vehicles and mowing equipment.  Must be capable of assisting with inspection of vehicles, trailers, and small gas-operated hand tools to ensure proper and safe operation.

Valid Driver’s license required for this position.

Pay Range: $8.00-8.50/hour

This is a full-time, year-round position with benefits.
